What Is The Importance of Worming?
Intestinal parasites of cats and dogs can potentially pose health hazards for humans too. If roundworm eggs are ingested the larvae can migrate through the intestinal wall and the tissues causing a disease called visceral larval migrans. These worms can grow in any part of the body; one particular site which causes a problem is in the eye. Children are at the most risk especially if they play in an environment where animal faeces are present. A female roundworm can shed up to 100,000 eggs a day which pass into the environment. Control measures around the home and environment should be strict to prevent children ingesting these parasite eggs.
For the months of November & December we are offering FREE health checks for your rabbits, please call for an appointment any week day from 1pm - 5.30pm or walkin surgeries Saturday and Sunday mornings 9am - 1pm
